Introduction:
Hello boys and girls, without any further ado welcome to The Next Big Blog!
There’s something that I want to officially say here on the blog…your winner and
NEWWWWW UFC Heavyweight champion of the WOOOORRRRRLLD…BRRRRROOOOCK
LLLLLLEEEESSSNAAAAARRR!!!! It feels very, very good to say that. Brock Lesnar is
the perfect example that if you want it bad enough, if you work hard enough, you
can achieve your goals. He hit a road block in the beginning but then he ran
right through it and reached the pinnacle of his UFC career in less than a year!
The funny part is that Brock is a rookie in the UFC, however he isn’t just any
rookie, he’s UFC heavyweight champion! For everybody who doubted him, I say IN
YOUR FACE! HAHAHA! Brock Lesnar didn’t shock me, he did however surprise me
because on my predictions I said he would win via TKO on the fourth round.
However Lesnar made short work of Couture by ending the fight in the second
round. I think that the fight itself was good, not great but at least we got the
outcome we wanted. Randy Couture was not a smart man as I thought he would be;
First of all, instead of gaining a little bit of weight after the official
weight-in, he didn’t do that like Brock always do. I mean I just don’t get it,
you have to be in the weight limit as you weight in but after that you can go
out and gain some weight for some advantage and Couture didn’t do it. He looked
way to small for a heavyweight and I hope for his sake that he goes back to the
light-heavyweight division and be the best there because if he wants to be the
best in the heavyweight division, he won’t succeed. Now that I got to talk about
the fight let’s talk about some of the things that other people said about the
fight.
WWE Reaches Another Low/TNA-Wrestling praises Lesnar:
The two top wrestling promotions in the country both had articles about Brock
Lesnar’s win on Saturday night. While it came as no surprise that TNA actually
praised Brock by first congratulation him and wishing him luck, they also
managed to plug in their own wrestler, Lesnar’s nemesis, Kurt Angle in the
article. TNA has a tendency to use big names in their company just to try and
get as much viewers as they can, I guess they do that on their websites too.
However, WWE took a different direction, although the moron who wrote the
article congratulated Lesnar for winning the title, they actually tried to take
credit for Lesnar’s success in the UFC. Here’s what was written…
“In a stunning upset, Brock Lesnar became the first man to capture both the WWE
Championship and the UFC Heavyweight Championship when he defeated UFC fan
favorite Randy ‘The Natural’ Couture on Saturday night in Sin City,” the release
begins, incorrectly referring to Lesnar’s victory as an “upset,” as he was
favored to win by all of the major sports books in Las Vegas. Critics have noted
that many of the fights on the UFC pay-per-view ended in the first round,
leaving UFC producers scrambling to fill the three-hour event with content,” the
WWE.com release states. “The dearth of hearty competition left many viewers to
watch less prestigious under-card fights and only served to bolster claims that
UFC pay-per-view events can often be a ‘crap shoot’ in regards to filling the
full three hours. For his part, Lesnar took the encouragement of the WWE
Universe and the hard lessons forged during his fiery time at WWE and showed UFC
and the world why he is not only a man of mettle but also a former three-time
WWE Champion,” concluded the release.”
After reading that, I got to think that it couldn’t just be some poor idiot
sitting on a chair writing this, I really think that this came from Vince
McMahon himself. He probably didn’t write it but these were most likely his
words. McMahon and Lesnar had a huge fall out after Brock left. They didn’t
think Brock would do well in anything other than pro wrestling, but now that
they have been proven wrong they seem bitter about it and even took shots at UFC,
a company that is growing by the minute. Today I went to the WWE website again
and the article was taken down. When I searched for the article I couldn’t find
it, as it said “page not found”. This proves that they realized how tasteless
their comments were and how childish they were being. I just lost a lot of
respect for WWE and I will not be ordering none of their pay-per-views from now
on. They think that UFC doesn’t do a good job with pay-per-views? Let’s see how
they will do when people like me stop ordering WWE ppvs.
TNA also mentioned Brock Lesnar’s title victory but they also managed a cheap
plug of the upcoming Kurt Angle DVD entitled Champion. In the DVD Angle talks
about wanting to enter the world of MMA before he hangs it up for good. Now just
a quick reference, here’s a guy who is constantly banged up, he got a broken
neck! That’s right a broken neck and he wants to enter a sport where guys get
hurt easily at any given time. Kurt might do okay if he takes at least one year
off and rest his ass off and then comes back and starts training but he would
definitely need to go into the light-heavyweight division because for his
stature, and weight, he wouldn’t make it in the heavyweights. These wrestlers,
think because Brock was able to make the transition, they can too. It just
amazes me sometimes.
Nicknames for Brock:
In the UFC almost every fighter has a nickname; a nickname that defines who they
are inside the octagon. In my opinion Brock Lesnar doesn’t need a nickname
because his own name is powerful enough. But if I had to give Brock Lesnar a
nickname right now I would call him the “Rookie Phenom” Like I said before
Lesnar is a rookie, there is no denying that but he’s champ and he’s taking UFC
by storm. But then I thought, he can only be a rookie for so long and maybe
Rookie Phenom is not the right name for him for the long run. I went through a
list of nicknames of almost all the fighters and there are a lot of names there
in which are somewhat original while others aren’t. In the mixed of all those
names there was one name that I didn’t see there. So when a man chooses to have
a nickname it should fit their personalities and I think in my opinion that “The
Manimal”. I mean that right there defines him because first of all, Brock is a
man..duhh obviously but also he is an animal inside the octagon so I think that
Manimal would really fit him well. I also thought about “The Man-Beast”. Another
nickname that came to mind was “The Killer” since his new tattoo pretty much
says it all “Kill Em All”. Last but not least, there was a name that
particularly caught my attention, as I was reading Paul Heyman’s article about
Brock, I noticed he mentioned the name “Alpha Male” doesn’t that sound good to
you? Anyway, these are pretty good names in my view and names that are not being
used in the UFC.
Fedor Emelianenko:
So okay, I wasn’t going to mention Fedor but I am so sick and tired of hearing
about him, Fedor this and Fedor that, “oh he’s the best fighter in the world”
blah blah blah! Until I see him on the national spotlight, until he makes it in
the UFC, he’s nothing! I will give him credit for having a great ground game but
believe me, all it can take is one punch and he CAN get knocked out, he’s not a
freaking robot people! I hear things such as Zuffa not wanting to sign Fedor,
well I don’t know about that, if Fedor really is this big shot that some people
make him out to be, I really believe Dana White and Zuffa would indeed sign him
because after all, this is a business and a good business decision equals big
money! Part of the whole reason why Couture left UFC last year was because of
this crap that he wanted to fight Emelianenko and according to Couture, UFC
didn’t make it happen. Recently Fedor had some words to say about our beloved
UFC Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar. I’m not gonna go into the whole thing
because you can read it in full at the site, but the main thing he said was that
he actually wants to fight Brock Lesnar. Yeah, Suzi got it right on her topic
title, “Fedor calls out Brock”. Indeed that is actually it and right now Fedor
is ranked at the number one fighter in the world while Lesnar is ranked fifth…really
FIFTH? After TKOing Captain America on the second round? OOOOKAY! Personally I
would LOVE to see this fight between Brock and Fedor, however I don’t think it’s
the right time yet. Brock Lesnar still has to fight Nogueira or Mir and unify
the two UFC Heavyweight titles. But I must say that this fight really could be
the biggest fight in MMA history simply because if Brock Lesnar beats Fedor,
then all these morons who keep kissing Emelianenko’s ass will have to shut their
mouths and accept the fact that Brock Lesnar is the greatest fighter in the
entire freaking world!
Closing:
