Brock was on the Power Trip Morning Show on KFAN in Minneapolis yesterday.
A few things of what Brock had to say about Frank Mir's recent "death"-comments and more:
"I feel really good. I'm back to training, I started main camp last week and I feel great. Everything is on track. Starting to build the base up again and get ready to fight hopefully mid-summer. We're thinking about July 3rd Las Vegas right now."
"Fighting the winner, hopefully the winner, of Frank Mir and Shane Carwin. If one of those guys are unable to fight after that fight. I'll probably fight Cain Velasquez from my understanding. I'd really like to fight Frank Mir again."
"You know I don't know what he [Frank Mir] thought... he's still trying to pull his foot out of his mouth and when you say something like that and your wife has to go out and apologize for you, you know you pissed somebody off. I think his wife made the apology before he did probably."
"But you know in this sport of fighting. Fighting has come so far in such a short amount of time. We want to perceive ourselves as athletes and get the respect of the general public. Yeah it was out of line but in the fighters mentally I don't want to go in the Octagon and kill somebody but I do want to do whatever I can to win. And maybe that's what he was saying, I don’t know."
"But the guy should probably just focus on the task in front of him which is Shane Carwin because if Shane Carwin beats his ass he won't be fighting me.... Hopefully he gets past Shane Carwin so I can put another beat down on him. For a guy to take an ass whopping like the last I gave him and for him to get up and keep running his mouth. You know I just got to laugh at it."
"I got to go back to a quote that he said before my second fight. He said if Brock Lesnar beats me, He will become the greatest mixed martial artist ever. And I guess he's eating his words and he doesn't want to say that again, he doesn't want to admit that I am that much better than him."
"But I am truly hoping that Frank wins this fight so it sets us up for July and maybe the next beat down will ... (laughs) I don't know what I have to do to shut him up."
“It’s finally a heavyweight division that people are talking about. It’s always good to have a melting pot of heavyweights that are capable of challenging the champion. Cain [Velasquez] has proven himself, he’s beaten some guys with credibility, and I wouldn’t have a problem stepping in the Octagon with him. Definitely he’s a force to be reckoned with.”
I have no idea whoever runs Brock's official youtube channel but the following statement was issued on there:
“Frank Mir wants murder? The beast is now even angrier than last time. It's okay, Frankie ‘The Stalker’ Mir could use another beatdown. Except this time, it will be more vicious. The Champion hopes Frank Mir makes it past Shane Carwin. Frank may never be able to fight again after the third fight is over. Expect the unexpected Mr. Submission Man, you may leave without an arm.”
Concerning the recent comments Mir made about Brock Shane Carwin said:
"Brock is a heel in the ring but at home he is a human, husband, father and friend to many. Wishing death or harm upon him doesn't serve any purpose. I will do my best to make Frank's dream of fighting Brock come true, unfortunately for them it will be a three round fight as I plan on winning both of those belts." [credit: mmabay.co.uk]
Frank Mir opened a can of worms with his comments about wanting to break Brock Lesnar's neck. He also said he wanted Lesnar to be first death in the Octagon. His boss Dana White reacted in his typical short, sweet and explosive fashion.
"Mir is a [expletive] idiot! I have never heard something so unprofessional and idiotic in my life," White told Carmichael Dave of KHTK in Sacramento.
Later this article was posted on UFC.com:
Dana White, UFC President, today made a public statement following the remarks Frank Mir made to a member of the media regarding UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. In an interview with WXDX-FM Mir stated that he wanted Lesnar “to be the first person that dies due to Octagon-related injuries.”
“I was disappointed by Frank Mir’s comments," said White. "Frank’s been with the UFC a long time, he’s a two-time heavyweight champion and a commentator for the WEC. I think his emotions are running high right now, he has a big fight coming up next month and he’s still upset about his loss to Lesnar. He’s been talked to, he regrets what he said, and he won’t be saying anything like that again.”
“I would like to apologize to Brock Lesnar, his family, the UFC and the UFC fans for my stupid remarks,” said Mir. “I respect Brock, all the other fighters, and the sport of mixed martial arts. I’m sorry that I stepped out of line.”
With all these comments from Frank Mir about say "Killing Brock" and "I want to end Brock's career". Would you say he does more then want to kill Brock and/or end his career? Can you say hidden agenda? I can and do, I say Frank wants Rena/Sable. Who wouldn't guys and gals? Who would want some girlly girl when they can have a strong willed woman who all the women still want to be (look in rmf.com) and the men still want to come to see her. lol Sure Brock feels the same way I do. What do you guys feel? Leave a comment in the tabboard about it.
