VELASQUEZ PREDICTS WAR WITH BROCK
Posted by Suzi, on 21 Feb 2010
After beating Big Nog last night at UFC 110 Cain Velasquez is now one of the top contenders for Brock's UFC HW crown. When asked about a potential matchup Velasquez said:

“For me, I have to fight a smart fight and get with my coaches and figure out a good game plan,” he said. “Definitely, with those kind of guys -- super big, strong -- you’ve really got to worry about the power. I think this could be a war; you’ve really got to fight to the end. You’ve gotta really try to tire them out, but that’s easier said than done, but that’s how I see me going…” [credit: sherdog.com]

MIR SAYS HE WANTS BROCK TO DIE.. WHAT A CLOWN
Posted by Suzi, on 20 Feb 2010
Oh those wonderful few weeks without Frank Mir making comments towards Brock... those are over.

He told WXDX radio (via FightOpinion.com) how he would like his trilogy match with Brock to end should it take place:

"I want to fight Brock Lesnar. I hate who he is as a person. I want to break his neck in the ring. I want him to be the first person that dies to Octagon-related injuries."

The statement is kinda similar to the one he made before UFC 100 saying he would like to break Brock's arm and take it home. We all know how that ended! And people don't like Brock for his "post-fight trash talk"? Seriously? I'm all for hyping fights but Mir went way too far with this comment.

VELASQUEZ ON BROCK
Posted by Suzi, on 18 Feb 2010
Cain Velasquez, a top UFC heavyweight contender, gave TapouT Radio his thoughts on UFC champ Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin.

“I think both those two have the same fighting style,” said Velasquez. “They’re both really good wrestlers. They’re both really good guys, strong guys, and they both have a lot of power. They can end the fight in any position that they’re in. Those two are definitely the toughest guys out there, the toughest competition out there.”

Velasquez could be Brock's next opponent. Dana White once again mentioned this at yesterdays UFC 110 press conference:

"Brock is back in the heavyweight division now," White said. "He's healthy, and he's going to fight again. Mir and Carwin are going to fight for the interim title because that fight was already made before Brock said he was coming back.

"[Nogueira and Velasquez], the winner of this fight puts them right in the mix because something could happen to either Shane or Mir in that fight where they couldn't fight Brock, so the winner of this fight would fight Brock."
