UFC ANNOUNCES INTERIM TITLE BOUT
Posted by Suzi, on 02 Jan 2010
It's official: UFC announced today that Frank Mir and Shane Carwin will fight for the Interim HW title at UFC 111 in march. This means that Brock will not be able to get back in the Octagon anytime soon. As stated earlier this week by Dana White within the next 7 days we shall know more about what's going on with Brock.

If Brock is able to return this means either Lesnar vs Mir III or Lesnar vs Carwin (as planned for nov last year) should be Brock's next fight.

Brock just won the award for Breakout Fighter of the year at the 2009 World MMA Awards. He was up against Shane Carwin, Dan Hardy, Jon Jones & Cain Velasquez.

Brock was not at the show. Dana White accepted the award for him saying Brock couldn't be there because of his illness.

Don't miss the 2009 World MMA Awards tomorrow! Brock is nominated a few times including for Fighter Of The Year, Breakout Fighter Of The Year and Fight Of The Year. While I don't think Brock will actually attend the show it's still interesting to see if he takes one of the awards home.

In addition to the official ceremony, which begins on Dec. 30 at 10:30 p.m. ET (7:30 p.m. PT local time) and airs live on Versus.com, the attendees will also be featured at a red-carpet arrival that begins at 8 p.m. ET.

Among the already confirmed guests are Dana White, Couture, Nogueira, Ortiz, GSP, Mir and Silva.

THE NEXT BIG BLOG #13 // BY JOHN

Hello everybody and welcome to the Next Big Blog! I almost gave up on it because I was way too involved with other projects but how can I be away from this? I love talking about Brock and I love the site in which brings us up to date news on our favorite UFC fighter, the cyborg terminator, Brock Lesnar! I am extremely happy to hear that Brock is recuperating from his very serious illness in which was being said to be career and life threatening at first. I remember hearing about it for the first time and hearing how Brock would never fight again and possibly fighting for his very life. I was very worried because I knew that if Brock was done, UFC would never be the same again. After UFC 100, when Brock Lesnar gave that extremely passionate and yet very entertaining and controversial after-fight promo that he had done something special there. After that promo, he became known as "UFC's Ultimate Heel". Meaning he because the guy everybody loved to hate! Not just the fans but the fighters as well. You may know that after that promo, many fighters which include names like Frank Mir and Shane Carwin, among others who were rubbed the wrong way. Whether it's jealousy or not, we'll never really know since these two fighters have been the top two guys who really want to hurt Brock and take his title. Frank Mir over the last few months has expressed mixed emotions towards Brock. He at one time said he actually...

MIR TALKS BROCK

Another chapter of the Mir-is-obsessed-with-Brock story:

JIM ROSS TALKS BROCK
Posted by Suzi, on 19 Dec 2009
WWE announcer Jim Ross has posted a new blog on JrsBarBQ.com. Talking about Brock he said:

UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar looks like, because of his on going issues allegedly with diverticulitis, that he will be stripped of his title soon. If Brock is lucky enough to dodge the surgeon's knife on this matter it will be miraculous. Having had diverticulitis, diverticulosis, a perforated intestine and a tumor removed from my colon I can identify with some of what Brock is currently going through. (Thank God I had the skilled Dr. Heiney to help pull me through.) He will have to change his diet to a significant degree for the rest of his life but I still see Brock most likely returning to the Octagon. Perhaps not in 2010 and, if so, it would be late in 2010. If Frank Mir wins the interim title, expect Lesnar to be even more motivated to return and physically destroy Mir as Brock did in their last encounter. To Mir's credit, he has talked and fought his way back into relevancy and into the title picture. Lesnar is seeing skilled, astrologist's and his physical snapshot will be evolving over the next few months. Obviously, UFC honchos feel Lesnar will be out an extended period of time or they wouldn't attempt to crown an interim, paper champion in Brock's absence.
