Brock just was on the Jim Rome radio show.. he said Randy Couture was a great asset to his camp. And about Fedor's loss: "I don't think any less of him. We're human beings. We all make mistakes." I hope to be able to post a link to this audio soon.
Shane Carwin made an appearance on ESPN's SportsCenter earlier this morning.
He said: "Brock has the real belt. I'm going to take it from him Saturday." and closed the segment by predicting, "You're going to see Brock Lesnar knocked out on the canvas."
"The only thing that Brock possesses that is different from my other training camps is his size and speed as an opponent. We have taken steps to adjust for this fight and having a year to prepare for this opponent has been great. I am ready."
"I want the best Brock ever on July 3rd. I want a war, and one of us will need help leaving the Octagon. Everyone wants me to finish this fight fast. I would love to be able to show my entire MMA game on July 3rd when the world is watching."
About Brock's recent comments on Fedor: "Well, Brock's MMA math is limited at best. Fedor is the best heavyweight and possibly one of the best fighters ever. He has been tested and proven over time that he is a real legend. That is my biggest issue with Brock. He likes to take away from others without knowing or thinking about what he is saying."
On whether he will get a better contract should he beat Brock: "I do not think so. Beating Brock does not make you Brock. I will still need to insult most of the fighters in my division, flip off the fans, insult the biggest sponsors the UFC has and then and only then will I renegotiate with Zuffa. Dana and Lorenzo have taken good care of my family and I. They have given us more than they are obligated to and we are happy."
Most MMA-websites now list Brock as the #1 Heavyweight. Go Brock and cement that spot with a win over Carwin on saturday!
Ranking from sherdog.com:
1. Brock Lesnar (4-1) While we do not know exactly how Lesnar will look in his return to the cage after his bout with diverticulitis, we do know his foe. Come July 3, he will take on Shane Carwin to unify both halves of the UFC heavyweight mantle in what should be a blockbuster match for the promotion.
2. Fabricio Werdum (14-4-1) 3. Fedor Emelianenko (31-2, 1 NC) 4. Cain Velasquez (8-0) 5. Shane Carwin (12-0) 6. Frank Mir (13-5) 7. Junior dos Santos (11-1) 8. Alistair Overeem (33-11, 1 NC) 9. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (32-6-1, 1 NC) 10. Antonio Silva (14-2)
